Lions Park

Maintenance of the Lions Park in the Village of Milo year round.

Annual Summer BBQ and Show N Shine

Encouraging community growth and fellowship every year on the second Sunday in August.

Annual Turkey Bingo and Pancake Supper

Hosting an annual Pancake Supper and Turkey Bingo night, giving out Turkey's and other prizes for the start of the festive season, and providing a place for the Milo School Council to raise money via a bake sale.

Annual Fun Casino

Hosting an annual Fun Casino in support of local societies and groups such as The Friends of the Milo Library, The Royal Canadian Legion, The Snake Valley Seniors Society, The Milo and District Agricultural Society.

Milo Community Campout

Sponsoring the undertaking of the annual Milo Community Campout, which takes place every year at the Enchant Municipal Park. The Lions provide a pancake, egg, and bacon breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning and hold fun events for children.

Cemetery Maintenance

Maintenance of both the Hope Lutheran and the O' Perfect Peace Cemetaries.

Milo Community School

Supporting the Milo Community School by Student Year-end Awards, and various other school initiatives.

STARS

Supporting STARS Air Ambulance as an integral part of rural emergency services.

Food Bank Donations

Holding an annual Canada Day pancake breakfast to raise donations for the Vulcan Regional Food Bank Society.

Local Health Care

Sponsoring the High River District Healthcare Foundation for $10,000 toward a new phacoemulsion system for High River General Hospital.

County Central High School

Supporting the local students of County Central High School by sponsoring student participation in leadership conferences and other events.

Milo Lions Archivist Fellowship

Supporting the development of a digital archive in conjunction with the Milo Library Archives and Archives Society of Alberta.

Become A Member

Becoming a Lions Club member is a commitment that should not be taken lightly. You have to be willing to give up personal time to serve and help towards the betterment of your community. This often requires a great deal of time spent running events, as well as preparation and clean up time before and after the event. The Milo Lions Club holds regular meetings twice a month on every 1st and 3rd Wednesday evening.

 

To become a member two things are required:

  1. You must be sponsored by a current active member of the Milo Lions Club for entrance into the club.

  2. You must complete a registration form with can be downloaded from the link below.

 

Once both these have been completed, please mail or email your form to the address listed on our Contact page, and your membership request will be considered.
